It's a source of great sorrow to me that I can only take one shower a day. Well, I guess I could take as many as I wanted, but it's hard to justify that seventh or eighth shower – which is too bad, because if there's anything I love more than soaking in hot water until my skin turns lobster-red, it's playing with soaps! Soaps and body wash, body wash and soap. I keep a variety of them in the shower at all times to fit every possible fragrance mood, but ever since I unwrapped the Kimono Rose soap, it's become my go-to cleanser.
Presented to me as a gift along with other Kimono Rose products, the soap set comes in a lovely pastel-colored floral gift box, and is pretty enough to be a present on its own. Inside are two beautifully paper-wrapped round soaps, 3.5 oz each. You can smell the fragrance through the box, and once you open these babies up, you'll really notice it – as the website says, they are "exceptionally mild, deeply scented."
And what is that fragrance like, exactly? As noted in my other Kimono Rose reviews, here's how Thymes describes Kimono Rose on their website: "A sheer, sensuous floral heightened with effervescent sweet clementine and voluptuous cassis on a creamy bed of satiny rose, peony and jasmine petals…finished with a kiss of smooth, silken vanilla." I had never thought of myself as liking florals, but this scent is light and clean, not cloying or over-sweet. The vanilla gives it richness and fullness, without being sugar-cookie-ish or dominating the blend. I can't say I notice the clementine per se, but there is a certain zest or slight sharpness to the fragrance that must be thanks to its presence.
So far, the soap has been long-lasting, and doesn't get mushy from sitting in the shower. It leaves a light, very subtle fragrance on the skin, not strong enough to be noticed after you rinse off (though you can layer this with the eau de parfum for a stronger effect). They'd make a great hostess gift or a special splurge for yourself.

The scent is fantastic. Not too flowery or strong, just perfect. I'm not normally a fan of bar soap, and tend to prefer liquid soaps...however, I will always have this soap in my bathroom. Its the perfect clean lather. love it!!

The Kimono Rose fragrance is very subtle; it's sensual and doesn't overpower with floral notes. Also, the round bar is just the right size to hold.

Kimono Rose is definitely a summertime delight!
Airy, light yet the aroma fills the air surrounding you. The scent gives me an immediate boost but yet doesn't overpower. I just feel fresh!
Everyone asks me what I have on and I'm ashamed to say it, but I want it to be my "secret weapon".
Please don't ever discontinue this scent. I love it!!!

Kimono Rose has such a beautifully scented feminine aroma. The soap leaves your skin silky smooth. The scent lingers on your skin for hours after showering. I love leaving this soap in my guest bathroom as a warm welcome for my overnight guests. Thymes never fails to impress!

My husband took me to the Biltmore Resort in 2009. While there, I purchased the Kimono Rose Bar Soap and Body Lotion. I was so disapppointed when I used up both bars of soap. My husband got on your website and ordered me another two bars. Those are gone and I just ordered myself another two bars. It is a real TREAT to use this soap making every shower a "great shower experience".

Very Long-Lasting, and Comfortable Round Shape!

I love how the Kimono Rose Bar Soap leaves a soft clean scent on your skin after a shower...so you're naturally perfumed and don't need to add anything extra! The round shape fits perfectly in the palm of your hand, unlike unwieldy bars that keep falling from your grip and develop dry cracks on their corners when not in use. Each individual bar has a lovely tissue wrapping that can transform it into a casual gift you can drop into someone's purse or pocket. And the bars last a good long time without ever losing their scent or sensuous sudsiness.
P.S. I read somewhere that rosehip oil, used regularly, can help reduce the appearance of scars--so Kimono Rose has given me a way to reclaim my skin after years of tom-boy recklessness (Hey, anyone want to jump off the barn roof with me? Of course I can cycle faster than you can on gravel ...). I bet those boys never dreamed I'd be a sweet-smelling girl with soft skin some day--me, the one with all the marbles!
